Water Off A Duck’s Back

Why would “peaceful worshipers” stockpile weaponry and in a holy site at that?

Why would “peaceful worshipers” stockpile weaponry and in a holy site at that?

Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas vowed to prevent Jews from “defiling al-Aksa Mosque with their filthy feet.” Was there no-nonsense condemnation of such incitement from the UN? Not a hint thereof.

The UN never ceases to blow our minds although the organization’s barefaced bias shouldn’t realistically surprise any reasonable Israeli. Yet somehow we compulsively continue to assume that abundant incontrovertible evidence before all eyes would finally even the skewed international scales.

Invariably however, time and again we are shown that no absurdity is too absurd for the UN.

The UN Security Council for instance managed in one outlandish statement to ignore the in-your-face aggression by Muslims on the Temple Mount while inter alia also expunging all trace of Jewish links to Judaism‘s holiest site.

It was a fantastic feat of obliterating the truth and propping up the lie.

To begin with, there was no mention of the term Temple Mount, thus in effect wiping out 3,000 years of Jewish history (to say nothing of the derivative Christian historiography). All that was mentioned was the subsequent superimposed ArabicHaram al-Sharif (Noble Compound). Repeatedly, that was the one and only appellation used for the site.

It was as if Jews were never there, have no connection to the Mount, had invented a bogus narrative about a non-existent temple and now arbitrarily seek to usurp the rights of Muslims whose sanctuary this was exclusively from time immemorial. All this subscribes to a tee to the outrageous history-defying contentions blusterously reiterated by Arabs/Muslims in general and by the Palestinians particularly.

On the one hand they pose as downtrodden victims denied their minimal religious liberties while at the same time defining these liberties as the right to exclude all others and erase Jewish civilization and beliefs from human chronicles. This is the theology of utter refutation and of unabashed replacement.

This is what the UNSC saw fit to bolster at a time in which the entire Mideast is in tatters and its refugees inundate the West.

In these explosive and volatile circumstances, the most urgent UNSC concern was to affirm that “the members of the Security Council underscore that Muslim worshippers at the Haram al-Sharif must be allowed to worship in peace, free from violence, threats and provocations.

The subtext is clear – Muslim rights “to worship in peace” are being violated and the villain of the piece is Israel. Moreover, the evidence in plain sight of Muslims turning al-Aksa Mosque into an arsenal of rocks and other projectiles, as well as hoarding pipe bombs and incendiary devices there, is studiously ignored.

Why would “peaceful worshipers” stockpile weaponry and in a holy site at that? The intent is surely nothing if not belligerent.

Predictably, this goes apparently unnoticed at the UNSC, where perhaps fanatical hostility is defined as the Muslim “freedom of worship.”

The holy sites are annually exploited to ramp up tensions ahead of the Jewish High Holidays when throngs of Jewish worshipers congregate at the Western Wall, directly below the Mount.  Habitually attempts are made not only to attack non-Muslim visitors to the Mount (who are forbidden to be seen as even whispering a prayer) but to stone and harass Jewish worshipers at the Wall and disrupt their most sacred services.

Israel and Jewish organizations worldwide duly lambasted the UNSC’s shameless declamation of inflammatory Muslim falsifications without an iota of acknowledgment of Jewish attachment to the site, one that preceded all eventual ensuing claims. But all that was water off a duck’s back.

The gross misrepresentation of past and present has come to be expected from the UN whenever it addresses itself to Israel. More of the same is likely as the General Assembly’s autumn extravaganza is staged.

Preposterous and specious as assorted UN resolutions, documents and declarations unexceptionally tend to be, their detrimental cumulative effect is undeniable. In the very least they implant and inculcate tendentious vocabulary in the minds of the uninitiated. They accentuate and approve prejudices.

They affix and appear to quasi-legitimize an agenda of hate – in galling distortion to the original vision of the UN’s mission.

  1. al-Aksa needs to be razed. Had our people known the nature of Islam in 1967 (after nearly 1400 years we still have not internalized the nature of Islam and its followers… shame on us), we would have exposed Islam for what it is, say by reading aloud the Qur’an, and started demolitions.

Islam itself needs to be outlawed and eradicated.

The first step to dealing with Islam and its followers is to learn about it and then to educate others. And don’t take your education from the followers of Islam but rather from its critics. People will then step back in horror at the realization of what we have in our midst. Islam and its followers will then become marginalized, and that will be the beginning of the end for Islam and its followers.

    • Al-Aksa AND the Dome of the Rock should be razed, these pagan constructions are simply designed to hold the Temple Mount hostage, for the political purposes of Israels mortal enemies.

      • Yes, Chris, thank you for the correction. I am not joking when I concur that all Islamic presence should be removed.

Islam itself needs to be outlawed and eradicated.

And just because there are 1.8 billion Muslims, that does not make the problem insurmountable but rather simply a larger problem. And thus it needs to dealt with initially in a different fashion.

Like Nazis and Nazism which together with Islam, its followers and the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem who all worked together so diligently to murder our people, Islam itself must be outlawed and eradicated. Islam goes even further by canonizing in their Qur’an and their own religious works the command and examples to murder our people to the very last one.

Now, all the Germans did not need to be killed. But Nazism, its leaders, dedicated followers and the symbolic vestiges promoting its presence were eradicated. Only the places of horrors it created and the history of what it did are preserved as a reminder to humanity.

    • “Had our people known the nature of Islam in 1967”
Sorry Phil, but we understood exactly the nature of Islam in 1967, but in his infinite wisdom, the one-eyed antiquities robber decided to show our Jewish magnanimity by handing the keys back to the Jordanian Waqf. Nobody was more surprised then they, as they knew full well what THEIR actions would have been had the results of the war been reversed.
By far the biggest mistake we have ever made since independance.

  2. And so it goes. . . . their lies and total disregard of history, particularly their own beginnings, find an enthused reception at the UN which is so skewed and corrupt, that it really has no significance if you are looki9ng for the truth. Their pronouncements are carefully built falsehoods, that, when repeated over and over begin to have the ring of truth to those who can’t see two sides (because of their lack of education, a condition that is carefully maintained). Islam does not accept that there was any worship nor was their a deity, before it was invented. They plagerize words from our Torah, substituting names and distorting facts, and the UN loves it. Why do you suppose that is?

  3. As Jackie Mason used to say – “too Jewish, too Jewish”. Too much emphasis on Jews.

The cornerstone of Christian religion is Jesus coming to Yerushalaim for Pesach, overthrowing money-changers tables in the Temple, and being crucified in town. So, Pals’ claim that there were no Jewish temple in Jerusalem directly contradicts Christian faith.

On the othe hand, an important part of Muslim ritual is stoning the devil, and Jews make a very convenient substitute with their Western Wall presence. So, what Mahmoud is saying is quite logical – Muslims stoning of Jews is part of their religious rights and no one, including Jews, must interfere with it.

  4. The Temple Mount is Jewish and the centerpiece of Israel.
The UN morons will never stop their support for the Arab enemies of the Jewish state.
The Temple Mount is the place to fight and to win for Israel.
NEW methods to stop the Arab violence must NOW be applied !

  5. Wasn’t it Moshe Dayan who, upon receiving that iconic message “Temple Mount in our hands”, ceremoniously handed over the key to the Chief mufti? From then on it was all down hill. And what happened to “Israel will defend itself by itself”? Why is this endless submission to an enemy without army or to a trembling king ?

  6. “To begin with, there was no mention of the term Temple Mount, thus in effect wiping out 3,000 years of Jewish history (to say nothing of the derivative Christian historiography).”

Shimon Peres, the father of Oslo, famously remarked in 1994, “I am sick and tired of history.”

Moshe Dayan famously handed the Temple Mount over to the Muslim Waqf (based in Jordan, which had just tried to destroy Israel and take over all of Jerusalem) — right after the Jews miraculously regained control of it after 2,000 years.

When Jewish leaders disregard Jewish history for their own political gains or to indulge in delusions of grandeur, all Jews, everywhere, suffer.
